FX Music has been supplying digital mixing consoles for the last 3 years. Our first venture into the technology was the Yamaha 01V console which was an upgrade to the original Pro mix console that Yamaha released some years ago. The Pro mix console was the beginning of the live digital format which has now evolved from a very small frame size and relatively low facility level to the large format digital mixing consoles available today.
The digital mixing console brings huge gains in terms of space and to some extent cost to a sound production. Boards such as a Yamaha M7CL bring to the table 48 mono channels, 4 stereo channels and nineteen output busses with onboard dynamics on every channel. In addition they have four full facility FX Units and up to 16 graphic equalisers. This makes it a hugely powerful piece of equipment that not only replaces the old analogue console but also of course all the racks of out board equipment that use to be the norm at the front of house mixing position making it a very popular choice for event organisers due to improvements both in space and sightlines to stage.
In addition to the M7CL we stock the Yamaha DM2000 console which is very popular with the both broadcast and corporate clients alike and was the root from which the M7CL was developed. The DM2000 has certain facilities that are missing from the M7CL such as 5.1 and 6.1 surround sound capability.
The market for digital mixing consoles is developing very fast and new boards are arriving all the time from a range of different manufacturers. FX Music is constantly looking for the right consoles to add to our existing hire stock.
